Easy switch, works well

Switched to Ecotalk for a SIM only plan and it was super easy. Just put in my PAC code online and everything swapped over without a hitch. The calls and texts work fine, and the data is fast enough for all my browsing and social media. Pretty happy with it, plus it feels good knowing they help the environment.

Good mobile service, clear mission

I recently switched to Ecotalk, opting for their 12-month SIM plan with 5G data. The ordering process on their website was straightforward and the e-SIM activation was surprisingly quick, done in about 15 minutes after I received the confirmation email. Coverage, which uses the EE network, has been consistently strong in my area (London) and when I travel out to the countryside. I had a small question about international roaming add-ons, so I used their online chat support. The agent was knowledgeable and resolved my query efficiently. It's good to know my money is also contributing to nature restoration, which was a key factor in my decision. Overall, a solid experience with good service and a clear positive impact.

Consistent service, still happy

This isn't my first time with Ecotalk; I've been with them for almost two years now and just renewed my 12-month SIM plan. My previous experience with their 5G data plans was excellent, and this time around, the service quality has remained just as reliable. I regularly use the international roaming add-ons for work trips, and they've always functioned seamlessly. Their customer support, which I've only needed twice in total, has always been polite and efficient. It's reassuring to stick with a provider that consistently delivers good service and also supports a cause I care about, like their nature restoration efforts. No complaints here, still a solid choice.

Decent network, small delay

I got the monthly rolling contract from Ecotalk a few weeks ago. The setup for keeping my old number went smoothly, and the 4G mobile data speeds are perfectly fine for what I need daily. I appreciate their commitment to nature, that's why I chose them over bigger providers. My only minor issue was the physical SIM card took a day longer to arrive than the initial estimate, which wasn't a huge deal but meant I had to wait an extra day to switch over completely. Customer service was helpful when I called about it, though. Good value overall.

My mate just signed up and got some referral credit. How do I make sure I get that too if I sign up? Is there a special code or something?

C Colin 1 month ago
Yeah, your friend should have a referral link or code they can give you. You usually enter it during the online signup process, kinda near the end before you confirm everything.

Exactly what they said. Make sure you use their link/code when you're signing up, otherwise you'll miss out on the credit for both of you. It's usually a box on one of the setup pages.

I'm trying to compare Ecotalk with Giffgaff. Anyone used both or have strong opinions? Mostly care about value and good data.

R Raj P. 2 months ago
Ecotalk uses EE's network so the coverage is generally better than Giffgaff (which is on O2). But Giffgaff can sometimes have cheaper pay-as-you-go options. Ecotalk's plans are more about the nature thing.

I switched from Giffgaff to Ecotalk. Data speeds are noticeably better on Ecotalk for me, likely because of EE. Giffgaff was fine, but Ecotalk feels more reliable, plus you get the good feeling about where your money goes.

Anyone know if Ecotalk does student discounts? Or like, NHS ones? Looking to save a few quid if possible.

N Neil Whitfield 1 month ago
I think they do have a student discount, I saw something about it on their site a while back. Worth checking their specific discounts page.

Not sure about NHS, but I definitely saw student discounts mentioned. They also do a refer-a-friend thing where you both get credit, so that might be an option if you know someone already on it.

Hey, thinking about switching to Ecotalk. Heard they're green, which is cool. But how's the actual service? Like, what network do they even use?

W Wendy Q. 2 months ago
They run on EE's network! So if EE is good in your area, Ecotalk should be too. I've had zero issues with signal.

Yeah, can confirm it's EE. Coverage has been solid for me in the city and when I'm out hiking, which is a nice bonus since their profits go to nature stuff.

Thinking of getting an Ecotalk SIM for my trip to Spain next month. Does their international roaming actually work well, or should I just get a local SIM when I land?

N Neil 2 months ago
Their roaming works, you just need to add a bundle for it. I used it in France last year and it was fine, no surprises on the bill.

I'd double-check the specific rates for Spain, but generally, their roaming add-ons are decent. You activate it before you go. Probably easier than faffing with a new SIM when you're on holiday.
